From the time she read her first Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden mysteries as a child, award-winning Virginia author Allie Marie wanted to write mysteries, never dreaming she would grow up to be a real-life police officer instead of an author. Eventually working her way up through the ranks, Allie retired—four times, no less—as her experiences kept leading her to other law enforcement adventures in the U.S. as well as overseas.
After her final “retirement,” Allie soon embarked on a quest to fulfill that childhood dream to write mysteries and crime thrillers. However, she was derailed from those mystery plans when she began researching her family tree. Inspired by ancestors she discovered, she began The True Colors Series, a paranormal mystery series with modern local settings and colonial history, which has garnered multiple awards and led to a spinoff collection, The True Spirits Trilogy. The first book in the trilogy, Barley and Lace, was a finalist in the FILNE Founders Contest. She is currently working on her second and third books to complete the trilogy. She has also contributed short stories to the ‘Tis The Season Sweet Romance Novelettes and the best selling Feisty Heroines Romance Collection of Short Stories. She penned her first murder mystery for Murder By The Glass.
And those derailed plans for mystery stories? They are finally getting their turn! Besides several cozy murder mysteries that will appear in anthologies in 2024, Allie will be penning a crime thriller and starting a new historical mystery series.
Besides family, Allie’s passions are traveling anywhere, anytime, and camping with her husband Jack. Visit her on Facebook!
